People wearing eye glasses like me are familiar with this I am sure:
Bright lights reflecting in your glasses, making it hard for you to see.
So many of us choose the more expensive option and go for the coated, anti-reflective glasses, when we get a new pair.
They still reflect some of the light, but it is by far not as glaring.
But behold, I had never heard of anti-reflective glass for frames. Most likely you will see it in museums.
I stumbled across it at the boesner Hannover Charity Art Sale „20×20“ (for 20 euros). You buy a piece of art and if you buy one of the special charity sale frames, then you get the option of regular or anti-reflective glass.
Here is my still-life in gold, silver and copper. It is the first piece that I put behind anti-reflective glass:
If your room is very bright and sunny and your framed art is mirroring your room instead of displaying the art, then anti-reflective glass will be a good choice. The prices vary from very simple coated glass to museum-type quality, go for whatever you prefer.
